Best Lines from Books

This weekend, I finished listening to John Green's Paper Towns on CD.

I replayed this hilarious line repeatedly: "I hope I get pulled over," he says. "I'd like to see how the cop responds to a black man wearing a Confederate T-shirt over a black dress." (If you'd like to know the context, well . . . you'll just have to read the book.)

What's your favorite line from the book you're reading now?

Oh, Donna, it's not from a book I'm reading now - can I still play? I've remembered this line forever: "Theys two things in life I cain't stand, it's clutter, and a barkin' dog, and you are quickly becomin' both of them." From THE HAWKLINE MONSTER.

Ooh, Janeen, I love that. Thanks for sharing. Now I'm noticing lines as I read or listen and have to go back and really appreciate them.

Hi! I'm Nury Garcia's neice Tiffany, and I'd just like to thank you, for the book. I can't wait to read it! I've been writing since I was 8, and really want to become an author one day. If I ever get something published, I'll be thanking you first! My aunt also said you have sites to reference me to, I'd like to see them please.

A quote from a book? I can't remember it exactly but something like, "You can't wait for people to know you exist. You must do it on your own." -Winkie by Clifford Chase

Thank you!

Tiffany,
You are more than welcome for the book. I was so glad to hear that you want to be an author some day. Sounds like you're on the right path with all that reading and writing! If you'd like me to send that Web site, please send me your (or your parent's) e-mail address through my Web site: www.donnagephart.com. Looking forward to hearing from you there.
All best,

"Life, he realized was much like a song.
In the beginning there is mystery, in the end there is confirmation, but it's in the middle where all the emotions resides to make the whole thing worthwhile." -Nicholas Sparks (The Last Song)

Once again, this was a beautiful written book that took you on a journey of transformation and a experience of all emotions. This quote at the end sums up the meaning of the book and core value he follows by.
