2. This Christmas, among other things, my mother and I wrote 33 cards to be sent to our troops overseas. My writing hand's still a little sore, but my heart sure feels great.
3. If I win, I'll donate your book to the Grantsville, Maryland library. (Donna, hope this counts as another state!)

Hi! I am telling my sister about this contest, as she teaches fifth-graders at a small school in Mississippi.
One nice thing I am doing for the holidays is making beaded angel tree ornaments out of thin wire, for my sister's school to sell at a fund-raising crafts bazaar. I made 30 or 32 of them...sort of lost count, in all the hoopla!

I am going to share this contest with my two teen daughters here in Illinois. For the holidays, I am donating money to my daughters youth group - they are going to use it to buy socks which they are taking into Chicago to distribute to the homeless.

From Maggie in Idaho
1. I'm telling my grand-daughter about The Contest, so she can tell her school. She loved the book (already autographed-thanks Donna)& if I win we'll give the new copy to her school library. Idaho needs books (and Democrats).
2. We are giving used books for X-mas, except for the grandkids who we'll spend too much on. We also are giving to the 3 children from a local underpriv. family. They are getting new books and a toy (yet to be determined) that won't clutter their single-wide.

I told friends in Pennsylvania, Tennessee and New Hampshire about your contest.

My mother died, this year, so I decided to "replace" gift-giving to her with gifts to a Salvation Army angel. And, then I got two more, but I don't think that's saying much because you can only give two gifts.

2. There's a girl I know at school who looks stressed out everytime I see her. I'm planning to make her some cupcakes. Who can stay sad with unexpected cupcakes? =)
